Social Media and the Buyer /Seller Effect
The development in Social Media did not go unnoticed. Due to it's progression the producer/consumer market changed and people started to be more convince by other means of getting information about products.
Cell phones and instant chat gets the word out fast about anything if wired to a Social Media tool (e.g: face book, my space, twitter; etc). Can you imagine what that does to bad customer service?
The very instant something happens, with a few clicks (or in this case, a few key punches) publishers and readers are exposed to information about every thing that is going on around them. Blog spots and and independent web pages rack up a number of followers after a time, then generating buzz and influence.
With this development there is an upside in which buyers get the convenience of shopping from home on their computers.
The downside is: instead of advertisers buying in to televisions programs, radio broadcast and newspapers, here's now what happens:
Step 1: Buyer click on 'Buy Now'
Step 2: Seller Confirm the buyer Order
Step 3: Buyer make the payment
Step 4: Seller Send item to buyer upon receiving payment
Step 5: You can give good rating to your seller/buyer when the transaction is completed
This now causes a division between the buyer/seller

The Progress Continues
As time progressed people started to equipt themselves with the necessary tools to make it in a digital age. This will change our lives forever.
It all started with the revolution of media with the internet at the end of the last century which was pointed out in the video in the previous post. Everything related to the old media never looked the same as people found new and easier ways to be connected with their surroundings and the entire world.

The Expansion of Digital Media and the Use Social Media
Mankind has used the media for many years to reach the masses. Through media, we have been given a power we couldn't recieve from any other medium or process. We have been given the power to develop and convey messages for the better of people everywhere and to also impact the lives of not just people that live right next door to us but also people that live miles away and in other neighborhoods and homes all around the world.
Mass Media has been widely spread through the use of mediums such as newspaper, radio and television but in the 21st Century, change is upon us.
Digital Media refers to the same principles used in Mass Media but through the use of other mediums to reach the masses. Those mediums include electronic devices, techy gadgets and computer systems.
Days of getting information, coverage and advertising on television, radio and newspapers are almost gone from us and it's now time to Embrace something new, something different; something to change our lives while making it easier for us.
In the next few post I want to explore the Expansion of Digital Media in the 21st Century and the use of Social Media.
Here is a brief introduction to the topic.

The use of Digital Media in The Bahamas for Audio Production
When most people think about media in The Bahamas I am certain the thought of radio and television comes to mind. However, I've got news for those people; Digital Media is on the rise.
Digital media refers to formats used to present information such as digital video, digital audio and other digital content. It provides a medium for information to be passed on which is more than a change, it is a blessing.
The way we communicate with each other has definitely changed over time and the mass media is changing with us. The way we pass on information has changed from the basic television watching and listening to the radio and now we are moving into another time; another phase. From emails, to blog spots, specialized websites, podcast and live streaming, our lives have been changed through this development.
Is The Bahamas left out? I think not. We are surely moving with this change and it isn't about to change any time soon. It is a well needed element in all of our lives to best suite the changing world we are living in today.
Digital Media is on the rise and it isn't going any where!
It is my wish that Bahamians embrace this change and do what it takes to educate themselves about Digital Media. The rest of the world is being changed by it and that would be the same for us so we need to better equip ourselves with the knowledge we will need to survive.
I do think though, that we have made some progress; especially persons of a younger generation. I truly believe that we are the ones that is going to change the way Bahamians live and how we communicate.
Doing this assignment was an interesting experience and I will do it again; except without all the hastle and bastle :).
I was dissappointed about not being able to add my podcast here but nonetheless it has been a fun, learning, exciting, rough ride.
Until next time: Stay smart, stay abreast, stay Digital!
